Test the next big one.

Every week we hand-pick the upcoming indie games actually worth your time — the weird, the sharp, the could-be-huge — and point you straight at the free demo or the browser build. No filler lists. Twelve picks, each one earned its place.

Death of Kairos

A PICO-8 boss battler where you steal time itself — and every mistake can be rewound.

Why it's on the list: The rare pick you can test this second, no download. A year of work in a tiny cartridge: 3 stages, 3 weapons, 4 mini-bosses, and a time-stealing hook that makes its bullet-hell fights feel fair instead of cruel.

How playing works here

1 · Play on the page

Some indie games are built for the browser. Where the developer enables it, you play on itch.io in one click — like a trailer on a movie site, except you're playing the game itself.

2 · One click to the free demo

Most bigger titles live on Steam or itch as free demos. Our card does the homework — what it is, why it's worth it, how to test it — and the button takes you to the developer's own demo or beta sign-up.

What we never do

We never host game files, and there are no accounts or uploads here. Hosting strangers' downloads is a platform's job; ours is curation. That keeps this site fast, safe, and honest.

The curation promise

One curator, a short list, refreshed every week. Picks retire to the archive when they launch or go stale — they don't linger. A developer can never pay to be picked; paid featured listings, when they arrive, will be labelled and will sit beside the picks, never instead of them. Read the full promise.
